Rent and finance

Track transactions

Consult all expected and received amounts, rents, service charges, fees and expenses, and record receipts.

Purpose

The "Transactions" screen acts as the financial ledger of the organisation, bringing together called rents, service charge balances, fees and expenses with their "Due", "Paid on" date, "Type", "Description", "Amount" and "Status". The other lettings management screens record their amounts here, making this the reference point for determining what is owed and what has been settled.

Below the list, the bank statement import block allows you to reconcile received payments with open amounts.

Where to find it

  1. Finance
  2. Transactions

Steps

  1. Open the "Transactions" screen and use the search function to locate a movement by reference, unit, type or description.
  2. Sort by "Due" or by "Status" in order to isolate "Late" amounts.
  3. Click on "Mark received" on a single row, or on multiple selected rows, in order to record a payment as of the current date.
  4. Click on "New" in order to enter a one-off movement by means of the "New movement" form.
  5. Import your bank statement in the block located below the list in order to record payments in batches.

Good to know

  • A rent marked as received from this screen triggers the automatic sending of the receipt to the tenant.
  • The amounts recorded here feed into owner statements, service charge statements and accounting journals.
  • The transactions for a lease or a tenant are also visible from their respective record card, which avoids having to filter the complete list.

Custom configuration, on request to REOS

The direct bank connection depends on the organisation's contracts with its bank. The "Request configuration" button in the bank connection block sends a request to REOS, which configures the connection using the organisation's access details. Without this configuration, the manual import of a CSV export from the bank functions immediately.
