Getting started

Importing existing data

Import an existing portfolio from a CSV file, register by register, using column mapping and a preview before writing.

Purpose

The “Data import” pane allows you to load into REOS a portfolio previously maintained in another tool, using a CSV file for each register.

The portal first reads the file, proposes a mapping between its columns and the REOS fields, and then displays a preview; no data is written until you have verified this preview, which limits the risk of importing incorrectly placed data.

Where to find it

  1. Account
  2. Settings

“Data import” pane.

Steps

  1. Open “Settings”, then the “Data import” pane.
  2. Choose the “Register” to import from “Owners”, “Buildings”, “Units”, “Mandates”, “Leases” and “Prospects”.
  3. Click on “Choose a file” and select a CSV file separated by semicolons or commas, including a header row.
  4. Verify the proposed “Column mapping” and associate each field marked with an asterisk with a column from the file.
  5. Check the “Preview” of the first five rows, then click on the “Import … lines” button, which indicates the number of rows read, in order to write the data into the register.
  6. Consult the result, which indicates the number of rows written and, if applicable, the number of rejected rows.

Good to know

  • Fields that link one record to another, such as the building of a unit, do not appear in the mapping; these links are completed afterwards from the records, which justifies importing owners and buildings first.
  • The mapping is pre-filled when a column name matches that of a field or its label, which reduces data entry for a well-structured file.
  • Amounts accept both the comma and the decimal point, and an empty cell is recorded as an absent value.
  • Rows are written in batches of one hundred: a rejected batch does not prevent the writing of the others. Verify the mapping and reload the rejected rows.
