Placing options and waiting lists

Temporarily reserve a lot for a contact, add subsequent interested parties to a waiting list, and allow REOS to manage option expirations.

Purpose

An option blocks a lot for a contact for a limited duration, allowing them time to confirm their interest. When the lot is already under option or reserved, subsequent contacts can be added to a waiting list in the order of their arrival.

A daily process terminates expired options and notifies the contact by email; if a contact is waiting on the list, the option is assigned to them and they are notified, which avoids manual priority management.

Where to find it

  1. Development
  2. Projects

Lot panel in the “Lots” section, and “Options” section of the project page.

Steps

  1. Open the lot in the grid, then open the “Option and waiting list” block.
  2. Select the “Contact” and adjust the number of “Days” for the option, which is suggested based on the project's option duration.
  3. Click “Put under option” when the lot is available, or “Add to waiting list” when it is already under option or reserved.
  4. Consult the “Options” section of the project to monitor all options and waiting lists for the development.
  5. Click “Cancel” on an option when the contact withdraws.

Good to know

  • The panel displays the end date for each active option and the rank of each contact on the waiting list.
  • The contacts suggested are those from your prospects; if the list is empty, create the contact in “Prospects” first.
  • When a reservation is confirmed, the active option on the lot is converted and the lot status changes to “Reserved”.
