Purpose
The “Security” pane brings together the settings that protect access to your account, such as changing your password and email address, two-factor authentication via an application, and session closure.
It also contains the “User sessions” section, through which the owner or an administrator sets the maximum duration of sessions and their closure after inactivity for the entire organization, in order to align the portal with the company security policy.
Where to find it
- Account
- Settings
“Security” pane.
Steps
- Open “Settings”, and then the “Security” pane.
- Enter a “New password”, check the “Strength” indicator, confirm it, and click on “Change the password”.
- To change your address, enter the “New address” and click on “Change the address”, and then confirm the change from both inboxes.
- To enable “Two-factor authentication”, click on “Activate”, scan the code with your application, enter the “Six-digit code”, and click on “Verify”.
- In “User sessions”, choose the values for “Force a new sign-in after” and “Close after inactivity”, tick “One session per account” if needed, and save your changes.
Good to know
- A password considered “Weak” or “Fair” is rejected, whereas a long password combining uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols reaches the “Strong” level.
- Two-factor authentication can be disabled at any time with “Disable”, which removes the second sign-in step.
- With “One session per account”, any new sign-in closes the other open sessions of the same account.
- The “Session” section displays your “Last sign-in” and offers “Sign out” to close the current session.
